National Council for Behavioral Healthcare Appoints Local CEO to Board

Mountville, Pa. (October 18, 2007) – Local executive Susan Blue has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare, effective July 2007. Blue currently serves as President and CEO of Community Services Group, a mental health and mental retardation provider based in Mountville, Pa. With over 30 years of experience working within the human services field, Blue’s background uniquely qualifies her to contribute to efforts being made on the national level.

"The National Council plays a critical leadership role in building healthy minds and strong communities across the nation and I’m honored to guide this effort as a board member," Blue commented.

The National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare is a not-for-profit association of 1,300 behavioral healthcare organizations that provide treatment and rehabilitation for mental illnesses and addiction disorders to nearly six million adults, children and families in communities across the country. Board members lead the organization in promoting recovery from mental illness and addictions through public policy advocacy, leadership and workforce development, and organizational and practice improvement.

"This is an exciting time for the National Council and with the leadership of our outstanding board we will continue to raise the profile of mental health and addictions services in national healthcare policy and practice arenas," said Linda Rosenberg, President and CEO of the National Council.

In addition to serving as President and CEO of CSG, Susan has taken on leadership roles with the Association for Ambulatory Behavioral Healthcare, the Pennsylvania Community Providers Association and the Community Behavioral Healthcare Network of Pennsylvania.

Since 1972 Community Services Group (www.csgonline.org) has been dedicated to providing quality community-based mental retardation and mental health services throughout Central and Northeastern Pennsylvania. With over 1,600 employees, CSG has developed a spectrum of specialized programs to meet the needs of the individuals they serve.
